After 6 long years, it was finally time to connect, grow and contribute to WordPress, once again, for the community of Dhaka, Bangladesh. On the 18th and 19th of October, WordCamp Dhaka 2025 took place in the capital of the country, Dhaka. A Quick Lookback: WordCamp Dhaka 2025 Recap
WordCamp Dhaka was the most anticipated event for the WordCamp community in Bangladesh. Over 1,000 attendees and WordPress enthusiasts gathered together to network and connect. The event buzzed with energy and excitement as participants connected, learned of the latest developments in the industry and celebrated their love for WordPress. It offered a unique space for like-minded individuals to engage, fostering community and collaboration. Let us have a quick look at what happened in these two eventful days.
Day 1: Conference Day – Where the WordPress Community Comes Together
The event kicked off with the Conference Day, taking place on 19th October at the Seneprangan, Dhaka, where the vibrant WordPress community of Bangladesh came together under one roof. The morning began with cheerful faces gathering at the registration booth, collecting exciting official WordCamp Dhaka swags from the organizers, and gearing up for a day full of learning, networking and inspiration. The event officially opened with a grand Opening Ceremony, while various booths buzzed with exclusive offers, swags and giveaways.

More than 50 of our team members participated throughout the day, connecting with the community.
The day featured 11 inspiring sessions and 2 engaging panel discussions, where speakers and panelists shared their valuable WordPress journeys and industry insights, an eye-opening experience for newcomers and professionals alike. And just when the day seemed to wind down, a surprise speaking session added an unexpected spark, but more on that later in this post!
Day 2: Contributor Day – Where The Community Contributes To Make WordPress Better
The second day of WordCamp Dhaka 2025 was all about collaboration and contribution — Contributor Day! Hosted at the American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB), the day brought together over 50 passionate contributors who gathered across 14 dedicated table sessions to learn, share, and give back to the WordPress ecosystem.
The event began with an introduction to the table leads, who outlined what each session would cover and how contributors could make meaningful impacts within their chosen areas. Among the participants were 7 enthusiastic students joining through the Campus Connect Program, sharing their excitement and fresh perspectives as they stepped into the world of WordPress contribution.
Throughout the day, the atmosphere buzzed with collaboration as contributors explored new ideas, exchanged knowledge, and worked hands-on to enhance WordPress in real time. The event concluded on a heartfelt note, with tokens of appreciation presented to all table leads, followed by swag distribution for contributors and volunteers. A perfect wrap-up to a day dedicated to learning, teamwork, and open-source spirit.
Startise at WordCamp Dhaka: 50+ Team Members Uniting for WordPress
At this mega WordPress conference, Startise shone as a proud Platinum Sponsor, but our presence went far beyond sponsorship. We had the chance to connect with passionate WordPress enthusiasts from across the country, exchanging ideas, stories, and inspiration.
The Startise booth quickly became a hub of excitement, where attendees explored our amazing products like Essential Addons, Essential Blocks, Templately, xCloud, and more. The booth was brimming with fun swags, including T-shirts, desk organizers, sunglasses, and cool stickers, making it a favorite stop for everyone eager to take a piece of the WordPress spirit home.
But that was not all!
The Startise booth hosted the most exclusive giveaway of WordCamp Dhaka 2025, too. It gave away the latest and sleekest iPhone yet, the iPhone Air. This raised the excitement at the booth even more and pulled enthusiastic participants to the booth throughout the day.
Dedicated team members were always busy on the booth, guiding every attendee to participate in the puzzle game, collect their swags and try their luck at the giveaway.
As the day drew to a close, the excitement reached its peak with the announcement of the mega giveaway winner! The prize was personally handed over by Mr. Nazmul Hasan Rupok, Founder & Managing Director at Startise, to the lucky winner, Mr. Ahmed Faruk.
Sharing his story, Mr. Faruk revealed how he managed to secure his WordCamp ticket at the last minute, making the win an unexpected and delightful surprise. Startise wholeheartedly thanks him for joining the fun and helping make WordCamp Dhaka 2025 an event to remember!
Our Startise Heroes: Contributing to the WordPress Community
At Startise, we believe that learning should be open to everyone, and every enthusiast deserves the chance to grow. In fact, from our brand WPDeveloper, more than 30 team members dedicatedly spend more than 130+ hours contributing to WordPress Core and giving back to the platform.
That is why our involvement went far beyond running a booth and distributing swags; we actively shared knowledge and experiences throughout the event. Members of the team participated the event as official Organizers, Volunteers, Speakers and Contribution Table Leads as well.
On Conference Day, Nazmul Hasan Robin, Senior WordPress Developer at Startise, shared insights on working with Cursor & AugmentCode for smarter AI-driven development. Meanwhile, Esrat Sultana Popy, Front-End Developer at Startise, joined as a panelist for a discussion on DEIB & Community Contribution within WordPress. Their talks provided attendees with practical knowledge and inspiration, enriching the conference experience.
During Contributor Day, Nazmul Hasan Robin also led the Accessibility table, guiding WordPress enthusiasts eager to learn more about making the web inclusive. Another table lead, Linkon Miyan, Senior WordPress Developer at Startise, shared his expertise at the Core table, helping contributors navigate complex topics with ease. The attendees expressed heartfelt gratitude for their guidance and support.
And that’s not all! Startise proudly left its mark among contributors and volunteers as well. Mumtahina Faguni and Shahidul Islam served as core organizers of WordCamp Dhaka 2025, while Fuad Ragib, Nowshin Tasnim, and Zeba Afia Shamma participated as volunteers, working tirelessly behind the scenes. One of the key highlights was the Campus Connect program. Through this program, WordPress Bangladesh is committed to connecting with students all over Bangladesh and encouraging them to explore, contribute and work with WordPress. This initiative focuses on helping students build their portfolios, careers and experiences for work in professional fields in connection with WordPress. And this year, 7 partner campuses and 305 students joined the program.
Another key highlight was the recognition given to the Women in WordPress. Despite facing a lot of challenges in their professional fields, especially in the tech industry, the women in Bangladesh are still contributing to WordPress relentlessly. WordCamp Dhaka 2025 recognized all the women in the WordPress industry and gave a huge shoutout for their continuous contribution and dedicated work for the community.
A Surprise Session: Matt Mullenweg Joins WordCamp Dhaka 2025
And you would think that all that covers WordCamp Dhaka 2025, but no, the biggest surprise of the event was yet to come!
For the first time, Matt Mullenweg, Co-founder of WordPress and Founder of Automattic, joined the WordPress community in Dhaka virtually to address the attendees at WordCamp Dhaka 2025. In his speech, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the WordPress Bangladesh community for their dedication and continuous engagement with the open-source ecosystem. He also shared his excitement about the latest WordPress updates, highlighting how these new features will empower the community to push the boundaries of creativity on the platform.
